I just picked up a prescription of Amoxicillin 400mg/5ml Susp 50ml for my little one who has an ear infection. The doctor said it's important to finish the entire course even if symptoms improve. Has anyone else given this to their kids? Any tips or things to watch out for? I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects, especially the severe ones. I don't want to overreact, but I want to be prepared just in case.

My daughter had a severe reaction to Amoxicillin. Her skin started blistering and she had a high fever. We had to take her to the ER and she was out of school for over 2 weeks. I would keep a very close eye out for any serious side effects, especially in the first few days. If something doesn't feel right, go to the ER or call 911 immediately.

I had a bad experience with Amoxicillin. My son broke out in hives, he had a rare but serious reaction called drug-induced enterocolitis syndrome. He vomited within 1 to 4 hours after taking the medication to go with the diarrhea. We had to rush to the ER. It was scary but luckily he recovered. Keep an eye out for those signs.

Amoxicillin is pretty common and usually well-tolerated. My kid had a bit of an upset stomach, but that was about it. Just make sure your little one finishes the entire course. Always finish antibiotics as prescribed.

I wouldn't worry too much about the side effects. The serious ones are really rare. Just keep an eye out and if you notice anything strange, call your doctor. My kiddo was fine, just a bit of diarrhea, nothing serious.

I've given this to my daughter a few times. Just follow the doctor's instructions and it should be fine. Keep an eye on any signs of an allergic reaction, but it's unlikely to happen. Good luck!

My kid had diarrhea but nothing too bad. Just make sure to finish the course. Antibiotics can mess with gut flora so probiotics can help afterwards.
