Just prescribed Amoxicillin 500mg Capsules. What should I expect?
I've just been prescribed Amoxicillin 500mg Capsules for a skin infection. I've never taken antibiotics before, so I'm a bit nervous about the side effects. I've read about the potential for severe allergic reactions, diarrhea, and other issues. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? What should I expect, and are there any tips for managing the side effects? I really want to make sure I take this correctly, so any advice would be appreciated.

Don't forget to avoid alcohol while on antibiotics, it can really mess with your recovery and make you feel terrible. I had to learn that the hard way.
Amoxicillin saved my life. I had a bad strep throat that turned into a sinus infection. I took it for 10 days as prescribed and never felt better. Just make sure to get all the pills you're prescribed. No side effects for me
I've taken Amoxicillin a few times and it's generally been pretty easy for me. Just make sure to finish the entire course, even if you feel better. Don't forget to stay hydrated and take it with food to avoid stomach upset. Good luck!
Antibiotics are serious business. Always finish the full course, even if you feel better. If you don't, you could end up with a resistant infection later on. So make sure to take all of them. Trust me, been there, done that.
I had a bad reaction to Amoxicillin once. It started with a rash, then got worse. If you notice any signs of an allergic reaction, go to the ER immediately. It's not worth messing around with.
I'm glad you're being proactive and doing your research. Just remember not to take any other meds or supplements without checking with your doctor first, as they can interfere with the antibiotics.
I actually had to switch from Amoxicillin to a different antibiotic because of an allergic reaction. If you start feeling really sick or get a rash, don't wait, just go to the doctor.
This medication works wonders for ear infections but can make you feel a bit off. I had a persistent headache for a few days, but it wasn't terrible. Definitely worth it to get rid of the infection. Just make sure to drink lots of water and take it with food.
Be careful with the diarrhea. It can get pretty nasty. If it gets really bad, make sure to call your doctor right away. I had a friend who ended up with C. diff from antibiotics, and it was not fun.
