I just started taking Griseofulvin Ultr 250mg for a fungal infection on my toenails. The doctor said it could take months to see results, which is a bit discouraging. Griseofulvin is brutal on your liver. My doctor monitored my liver function regularly while I was on it. Make sure your doctor does the same.
I took it for a fungal infection on my scalp. It worked, but it took forever. Like 9 months before I saw any real improvement. But it did work in the end.
This drug is old school. They only prescribe it when other antibiotics dont work.
I never got any major sides effects, but it took a year to clear up my toenails. It was a long wait. I had to maintain a strict diet.. Might have helped.
I took it for a skin infection. It worked but I was on it for almost 3 months, it's a long haul.
Be careful with this stuff. I had to stop taking it because it made me super photosensitive. I burned so badly in the sun, I looked like a lobster. I had to switch to something else. Try and take it at night, you will be less likely to burn.
This stuff is awful. I had to stop taking it because it gave me terrible diarrhea. I was up all night running to the bathroom! Not worth it.
I took Griseofulvin for a while and it was rough at first—I had a lot of headaches and felt dizzy. It got better though, and my nail infection cleared up in about 6 months. Stick with it if you can, but definitely talk to your doctor if the side effects are too much. Up to you.
I had a really bad reaction to Griseofulvin. I developed a rash all over my body and had to go to the ER. Turns out I was having an allergic reaction. If you start to feel weird, don't wait it out—get medical help right away.
