I was recently prescribed Nitromist 400mcg Spray for angina and I'm looking for more information and experiences from others using it. The doctor explained how it helps relieve chest pain by relaxing blood vessels and increasing blood flow to the heart, which seems great, but I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects. Side effects like rash, dizziness, and headaches are listed along with some more severe symptoms like irregular heartbeat – are these common? What can I expect? Also, it’s recommended to report side effects to the FDA, I assume that’s a good thing to do if you have any bad reactions. I'm just trying to be prepared and understand what to expect. Anyone with similar experience?

I'm glad they finally came out with a spray. I've seen people struggling to swallow pills during an angina attack, and the spray is definitely more convenient. Just be cautious if you have a history of severe allergies; it's worth mentioning to your doctor.

I've used it a few times when I had chest pain and it worked well. As long as you follow the instructions, the side effects should be manageable. Just be mindful of the stuff like dizziness and headaches, I've heard those can be tough.

I had a bad reaction to a similar medication once, so I'm a bit hesitant. What signs should I look out for that mean I need to seek medical attention right away? I don't want to end up in the ER if I can avoid it.

It’s a bit scary knowing some side effects can be severe. Any tips on how to handle the anxiety of using this stuff?

Not sure what to think about a spray being my only option. I prefer pills. I've heard some people have a hard time aiming the spray correctly. What’s your experience?

The spray does wonders for relieving the chest pain quickly, but the dry mouth and excessive sweating can be annoying. I've found chewing gum helps with the dry mouth. You might want to keep some on hand. Also, I keep a bottle of water by my side to stay hydrated and minimize the sweating side effect. If you experience sweating, it may be best to be somewhere you can sit down and rest until it passes.
