I was just prescribed Tamiflu 6mg/ml Suspension for the flu. It's supposed to help me feel better faster by stopping the virus from spreading in my body. Has anyone else taken this? I want to know what side effects to watch out for and if there are any tips for taking it. The list of side effects is pretty long, so I'm hoping to hear from people who have actually used it. How did it work for you? Any advice?

Have you tried any home remedies along with Tamiflu? I've heard ginger tea and chicken soup can help. I got the flu last winter and I was miserable. I also took Tamiflu. I think it helped, but I also did a lot of resting and drank a lot of fluids. I got through it okay.

There is no way I am taking this stuff again. I got the flu, and took these and still felt like crap for a whole week! I'd say stick it out if you can, I mean I did get better but I lost a lot of time.

I've never had any side effects from Tamiflu, knock on wood. I always take it as soon as I feel flu symptoms. I think that helps. Also, I always make sure to stay hydrated. I think it helps to flush out whatever is making me sick. I think you should just take it and see how you go. Just be ready. It’s not a fun time.

Tamiflu suspension is usually prescribed to kids or those who can't swallow pills. I think the sooner you start taking it, the better it works. I think you should ask your doctor about when to take it. With kids, especially, it's hard to make them take their medicine. If your kid likes sweet things, try mixing it with something sweet like chocolate milk or ice cream. Just be sure to check with your doctor first to see if it’s safe.

I gave this to my kid last winter, and it worked like a charm. Usually takes 2 days to really kick in and he felt better fast so he could play. They have to be off the hangry flu fast. The only side effects were a bit of a stomachache, but nothing major. I'll definitely keep it on hand for next flu season.
