I was recently diagnosed with low albumin levels and my doctor prescribed Albutein 25% Inj, 50ml to be given through an IV. I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects, especially the rare severe ones. I've been reading up on it, but I'd love to hear from anyone who has experience with this medication. How was your experience? Did you have any side effects? How long did you have to use it? Any tips on dealing with the IV setups? Thanks in advance for any insights!

I work in a hospital and have seen a lot of people using Albutein. Just keep an eye on your fluid levels. I've seen a lot of issues with fluid balance.

Makes me so anxious to think of another IV. I had a bad experience with IVs in the past. Hope this works out for you.

My mom had this and she found it to be kind of a miracle. It worked great with no issues. There was a lot of attention in the mix and she was also getting blood transfusions at the time so its hard to say if it was the albumin or blood transfusions that helped. But she did get better. Maybe just make sure to avoid anything that can make your condition worse. Try to keep your spirits up too.

Ive had to administer this before and in my experience everyone reacted differently. Just keep an eye out for any reactions and communicate with your doctors. They can adjust your dose or time between doses.

This is used commonly in burn units and trauma. I've seen many patients take it in these circumstances with no issues. You should be fine if you are under the care of a professional.

I had a reaction to the IV when I was in the hospital, and now I'm worried about trying Albutein. Does anyone know if the reaction is common?

I hope you can get this figured out. Just hang in there and do your best to stay positive. You'll figure it out too. Good luck.

I had this a few years ago after some complications with surgery. It's not a walk in the park, but it's manageable. The IV setup is a bit of a hassle, but my nurse made it easy. I didn't have any severe side effects, just some dizziness and a bit of weakness. Drink lots of water and stay hydrated.
