I recently received a prescription for Potassium Acetate 2meq/ml Inj, 20ml. Despite being told that it will help correct low potassium levels, I must admit I am a bit nervous. The list of potential side effects is long, and I am wondering if anyone has had experience with this medication. Are there any common side effects that I should watch out for? Are there any strategies for coping with them? Also, what should I do if I experience any of the urgent side effects? What is the best way to report any issues to the FDA?

I've had to take this a few times due to potassium imbalances. The urgent ones are rare, but keep an eye out for anything abnormal. You should be fine if taken as prescribed.

Keep a log of when you take it and how you feel. It's helpful for your doctor and will help with any potential issues. Also, don't forget to report any side effects. It helps the FDA keep track of potential issues.

I've had a similar med. The trick is to drink plenty of water, that helps a lot with the side effects. Good luck!

My mom had to take this medication for a while and she never had any issues. If you do experience any of the serious side effects go straight to the ER!
