I was bitten by a stray cat a few days ago, and my doctor prescribed Kedrab 150iu/ml Inj, 2ml. I'm not sure what to expect from this treatment. The injection is supposed to provide immediate protection against rabies, but I'm nervous about the potential side effects. Has anyone else gone through this? What was your experience like? How soon should I expect to feel better? I'm also worried about the risk of blood clots. Should I be doing anything specific to monitor for this? Any advice or insights would be really helpful.

I had a really bad reaction to the injection, ended up having to go to the ER for an allergic reaction. I didn't realize it could cause an allergy, so I want to warn you to be aware of that.

The rabies vaccine and RIG are just a precaution because of the virus' incubation period is so long. You may feel sore and a little under the weather for a few hours/days, but a lot of things can happen after an animal bite. You won't get symptoms for days or weeks, so don't panic.

I was bitten by a stray dog on a camping trip and had to get this injections. I had to get it put into my stomach because there was so much swelling and I was having trouble swallowing. It was uncomfortable but the swelling actually went down as soon as I got the injection, I'm pretty sure it was because of an allergic reaction to the dog's saliva, and I felt better almost immediately. I didn't have any other major issues though.

The most important thing to do is to monitor yourself closely for the next few days if you do not already have a history of blood clots. If you start to see any of the signs of blood clots, go to the ER immediately. You don't want to mess around with this if you are at risk.
