I've been diagnosed with a rare blood disorder and my doctor has prescribed Mozobil Inj, 1.2 ml in combination with G-CSF to mobilize my stem cells for a transplant. I've read the usual side effects but wanted to hear from people who have been through it. What was your experience like? Any surprises? I am trying to stay positive, but the idea of all the side effects is intimidating. Any advice? I'm hoping to hear from people who have actually taken it, as sometimes doctors gloss over the details. I am mostly worried about the urgent side effects since they sound pretty scary. How common are they really? Any personal experiences would be helpful.

I had a hard time finding information about this. There are many blogs. It's super confusing, but it's worth it in the end. Don't eat a lot near the time before the injection. It will make your stomach worse.

You'll probably feel really tired and weak. My doctor warned me to rest as much as possible. I felt a bit sheepish for complaining to my doctor about sleepiness, but you just have to push through.

I went to the hospital for the injections. It was stressful, but I did what the nurse told me.

I was really nervous about the injection but it was honestly pretty easy. I took the pills they gave me and was fine. I've heard that some people have gotten the best results with Mozobil. Some people had the fever, but I was fine. It was all worth it in the end.

Be prepared for the diarrhea. It can be pretty intense. My doctor gave me some Imodium to have on hand, which helped a lot. Also, make sure you're drinking plenty of fluids to stay hydrated. It was rough, but knowing in the end it would help me recover made it easier.

My partner suffered from stomach pain when they took Mozobil. My dad gave me a recipe that helped a lot. I heated up ginger root and water, and had it a few times a day. Just don't drink too much of it.

I experienced a strange dizziness and other people I've known have also reported this. I was fine though. I figured it was the medication just weirding me out, but it could have been the stress as well.

I took Mozobil a few years ago and it wasn't as bad as I thought. The worst part was the injection site irritation, but it went away quickly. Stick to the medicine, but don't worry about it too much.
