I've been scheduled for an MRI and the nurse mentioned they will be using Omniscan 287mg/ml Inj, 20ml. I know it's a contrast agent that helps enhance the quality of the images, but I'm a bit nervous. From what I understand, it contains gadolinium which can cause some serious side effects. Has anyone here had an experience with Omniscan? How was the process, and did you experience any side effects? My doctor mentioned kidney issues and allergic reactions are rare but serious. What are your thoughts on this? If you got through this, how did you manage your anxiety? And how do you cope after the procedure if you experience any side effects? Thanks a lot for any advice!

My friend had an allergic reaction to Omniscan! The worst part was the hives. Something to keep an eye out for. Don't worry too much though, I heard these reactions are rare. Just make sure you're aware of the signs and symptoms and have a plan in case something does happen. Make sure you have a way to get to the hospital just in case.

I felt anxious before my MRI with Omniscan, but the procedure was straightforward and I felt OK afterwards. I highly recommend talking to your doctor about any worries you have and make sure you ask about what to do if anything happens. Just be sure to monitor yourself after the procedure and have a plan for if you experience any side effects. Do remember to drink plenty of water after your MRI and rest. Keep an eye out for symptoms like changes in urine output, blood in urine, or any skin rashes. It may be nothing, but it's better to be safe!

I had Omniscan for my MRI last week and honestly, it was a breeze. The injection was quick, and I didn't feel anything. My doctor was great and assured me that risks are low. But, everyone's experience can be different. Make sure to talk to your doctor about any concerns. If you have any questions or concerns, talk to your doctor. If you have any questions, ask about your risks and if you should get it done or not. It’s a good idea to be prepared and know the signs and symptoms of side effects. This way, if something does happen, you can get help right away. I recommend having a plan to get a ride to the hospital just in case you experience any significant side effects.

I've heard mixed things about gadolinium-based contrast agents, including Omniscan. It's important to discuss any concerns with your doctor. They can provide personalized advice based on your medical history. Specifically, make sure to bring up if you have any known allergies or kidney issues and ask what precautions they can take if any of those apply to you. Also, knowing what to do if something happens is important.

I've had multiple MRIs with Omniscan and never had issues. Just relax and breathe. You'll be fine.

Can anyone provide some expert advice on dealing with anxiety before and after the MRI with Omniscan? Some things to consider if you experience side effects? I am feeling quite anxious and would love any tips. I am hoping to hear from everyone as well.

I had an MRI with Omniscan a few months back. I didn't have any side effects, but my friend did. He got a rash all over his body. He went to the hospital and they gave him some medicine to help it. He was fine after that. I also know someone who got really sick with nausea and vomiting. They had to be admitted to the hospital because they were dehydrated. Just keep an eye out for any weird symptoms and go to the hospital if you have any. Better to be safe.

I got the worst headache and felt dizzy for about an hour after my MRI with Omniscan. It was rough, but I talked to my doctor and she reassured me it's not so common to have these side effects but nothing serious. I heard they have a newer type that they use which has less side effects. Make sure to ask your doctor if you can get the newer one.

I had Omniscan last year for my MRI. The injection was quick and I didn't feel anything. I didn't have any serious side effects, but I got a mild headache later that day. My doctor said it was minor and would go away. Take it easy the day of your scan, and drink plenty of water to flush out the dye.

Magnetic resonance imaging, or MRI, uses a magnetic field and radio waves to create detailed images of the inside of your body. Doctors use the images to diagnose and monitor diseases. I've had it done with and without contrast. The contrast part seems a bit more risky. I think your doctor will probably be pretty insistent on the contrast. Make sure to talk to them about it and don’t hesitate to ask about all the details. I know a lot of people who have gotten an MRI with contrast and didn’t have any issues at all. But I have also met a few people who had a lot of problems after the scan, so I don’t think it’s worth the risk if you don’t need it.
