Just received Unasyn 1.5gm Inj 1 Vial prescription. Are there any side effects I should be worried about or any tips to ease the process?
I was prescribed Unasyn 1.5gm Inj 1 Vial for a serious bacterial infection. As far as I know, this is a combination of ampicillin and sulbactam. I want to be safe and aware. Anyone have experience with it? Also, is there anything to do to make receiving the injection more bearable since it's my first time.

I never had any serious side effects, just some light diarrhea. Stay alert for any signs of more severe issues like the liver problems mentioned.
I got so sick for a while with the diarrhea. It was like I always wanted to go to the bathroom, but there was nothing there. It lasted two days, so I'm just hoping that won't happen.
I wish I could have been more careful with the injection site since it hurt quite a bit. Next time, I am going to ask for some numbing cream.
This is a strong antibiotic, so keep an eye out for any allergic reactions. If you start feeling any symptoms like fever, itchy throat, or shortness of breath immediately go to ER
I'm a nurse, a lot of patients express feeling a lot of pain from their Unasyn shots. Best to go where the doctor administers it for you if possible.
Don't worry, it's easier than you think. Injections used to scare me too, but it's been fine.
I've never used this medication before. But I'm glad to help out those who are. I've just seen the effects of the medication on the person who had used it. It is good, just keep an eye out for those side effects.
I had a similar prescription and noticed some redness at the injection site. Just make sure to rotate injection sites to avoid constant irritation.
Make sure to stay hydrated while on antibiotics. It helps with any side effects. Good luck!
