I was just prescribed a 10-day course of Dexamethasone 1.5mg Dose Pak for a severe allergic reaction. My doctor mentioned it's a steroid and will help with inflammation and calming down my immune system, but I'm really nervous about the side effects, especially the urgent ones. Has anyone else taken this? How did you manage the side effects? What should I expect, knowing that some of these side effects can be severe and potentially life-threatening. Any tips on how to best cope with this? I'm especially worried about changes in behavior or mood and skin changes. It's scary to think about the possibility of something like an allergic reaction, like skin blistering, or swelling of the face or throat, while taking a medicine to manage the allergic reaction. I'm also curious about managing hair loss and other common side effects.

I've had to take Dexamethasone multiple times for flare-ups. Weight gain and increased appetite were the toughest for me. Keep an eye on your diet and try to stay active. Don't forget to drink plenty of water, too!

I think headaches are the worst. Trust me, I know. They were unbearable. Honestly, I think Dexamethasone should come with a warning about how it'll mess with your body. It’s a good thing it worked for my condition, but it was a rough time...

I had to take this for a bad case of eczema. Side effects weren't too bad, just some dizziness and a lot of sweating. I guess I was lucky.

Oh, and if you're wondering, yes, the hiccups are real. And annoying.

I took Dexamethasone for a severe asthma attack. I gained a lot of weight and my face got all puffy. It was awful. But it did help with the asthma. Definitely keep an eye on your diet and try to stay hydrated.

Restlessness was a big issue for me. I had trouble sleeping and felt jittery all the time. My doctor said it was a common side effect but it was still tough to deal with.
