Hi everyone, I've been diagnosed with bipolar I disorder and my psychiatrist recently prescribed me Abilify Maintena 400mg Syr. It's been a month since I started and I wanted to ask a few questions based on my experiences so far.

I'm finding the monthly injection easy to manage compared to the daily pills I was taking, but I've also noticed some changes in my appetite and weight. Has anyone else experienced this? Any tips for managing these side effects would be appreciated!

Also, I wanted to ask about the long-term effects of this medication. I've been trying to do my own research, but it's overwhelming. How has this drug worked for people in the long run?

Any advice or shared experiences would be wonderful. Thanks!

I have read the possible side effects, and while I know it is rare, I am concerned about them anyway.

I had a bad reaction to this drug. It's hard to please everyone. :-)

I had to stop taking Abilify Maintena because of the movement problems. It was really scary. Talk to your doctor about any twitching or trouble with body movements. But everyone is different, so don't worry too much unless you actually experience something. Fingers crossed you don't have to deal with that.

I've been on Abilify Maintena for about a year now. The weight gain was tough at first, but I managed it with a stricter diet and more exercise. It's a bit challenging, but it's doable. Make sure to keep your doctor in the loop.

I've noticed some people get weird rashes or allergic reactions. If you have any issues like that, call your doctor ASAP. It's not worth risking it.

Just a heads-up, make sure to stay hydrated and get plenty of rest while on this medication. It can make you feel pretty tired at first.

I've been on and off Abilify Maintena for a few years now. The long-term effects can be a bit tricky. My doctor monitors my blood sugar regularly because of the risk of high blood sugar. But overall, it's helped me manage my bipolar disorder much better.

My psychiatrist told me that some people on Abilify have uncontrollable urges to spend money or eat. Crazy, right? Just something to keep an eye on.

I've heard mixed reviews about this drug. Some people love it, but others have had some serious side effects. Just be sure to monitor your health and talk to your doctor regularly.

Be careful with this stuff. I've read about people getting really sick with NMS. I think it's rare, but still pretty scary. Good luck!

I switched to Abilify Maintena from daily pills, and it's been a game-changer for me. No more forgetting to take my meds every day, and I've felt more stable overall. Fingers crossed it stays that way!
