Just Started Acetaminophen/cod #3 (300/30mg) for Chronic Pain – What to Expect?
I've been prescribed Acetaminophen/cod #3 (300/30mg) for managing my chronic back pain, and I'm a bit nervous about the side effects, especially since it's an opioid. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? I'd love to hear about your experiences and any tips for managing side effects. Also, how long did it take for you to feel the pain relief?

Be careful if you have any breathing issues. Opioids can make them worse. I had to switch to something else because of that.
Make sure you don't take other meds with acetaminophen in them while on this – you can accidentally overdose on the acetaminophen. I learned that the hard way.
Be careful with this stuff. I had a friend who got hooked and it ruined his life. Don’t take more than prescribed and definitely don’t mix it with other meds without talking to your doctor first.
I was on this combo for a few months after a surgery. It helped with the pain, but I did experience some dizziness and constipation. Make sure to take it with food and stay hydrated. Also, talk to your doctor about stool softeners if the constipation gets bad. It helps, believe me!
I took it for a flared up back injury and it worked wonders. Just make sure you don’t drive or operate machinery until you know how it affects you. The drowsiness can hit you hard at first.
I found that taking it with a glass of milk helped with the nausea. Also, don’t forget to take it regularly – it’s better for managing pain than taking it when you’re already in agony.
