I've just started using Afrezza, the inhaled insulin, and I'm curious to hear from others who have tried it. I'm hoping to control my blood sugar after meals more effectively, and I'm wondering if anyone else has had success with it. I'm also a bit concerned about the side effects, especially the potential for worsening lung function. Has anyone else experienced any issues? What tips do you have for managing this new treatment? Here's to hoping Afrezza does help make my diabetes a bit more manageable!

I switched to Afrezza because I hated the idea of injecting myself multiple times a day. The inhaler is so much easier to use, and it's become a part of my routine. I did have a bit of a cough when I started, but it went away after a few weeks. Regular lung function tests are a must!

I've been using Afrezza for a couple of months now, and it's been a game-changer. My blood sugar levels are much more stable after meals, and I love not having to deal with injections. Just make sure to have glucose tablets on hand for those occasional lows.

Glad to hear it's working for some of you! I'm still on the fence. My doctor mentioned that Afrezza isn't meant to replace long-acting insulin, just to supplement it. Make sure you're clear on how to use it alongside your other meds. Anyone had issues with their insurance covering this? Mine has been a pain.

You know what's weird? I've been using Afrezza, and I feel like my blood sugar is more stable, but I'm also gaining weight. I don't get it. Anyone else notice this?

I wonder if the throat irritation could be helped by drinking water afterwards or something, huh?

I've been on Afrezza for a year now, and it's been great. My A1C has improved, and I feel more in control of my diabetes. The side effects aren't too bad — just a little cough sometimes. If you're thinking about trying it, I say go for it. Just make sure you monitor your blood sugar closely and talk to your doctor regularly.

A friend of mine had a severe allergic reaction to Afrezza. It's super rare, but it happened to him. He had to switch back to injections. It's scary to think about, but I guess that's the risk with any new medication.

I'm curious if anyone has had trouble with the inhaler itself. Like, has it ever failed or anything?

Watch out for throat irritation, that's the worst to me.

Afrezza has been a lifesaver for me. I used to have to inject insulin multiple times a day, and it was a nightmare. With Afrezza, I can just inhaler it in and go about my day. The inhaler is easy to use, and the side effects haven't been too bad for me. Just a bit of throat irritation sometimes.
