I've just been prescribed Benzhydr/acetaminophen 8.16/325mg T for severe chronic pain. The doctor explained it's a combination of benzhydrocodone (an opioid) and acetaminophen, and the benzhydrocodone part is extended-release, which is new to me. I'm a bit anxious about the potential side effects, especially the severe ones. Has anyone else tried this medication? What was your experience like? I'd appreciate any advice or tips on managing the side effects or anything else I should know. Thanks!

This stuff is intense. Make sure to follow the dosage strictly. I had to switch to something else because of the dizziness and drowsiness, but it worked great for my pain while I took it.

I never experienced any serious side effects, but the constipation was a nightmare. Make sure to up your fiber intake and stay hydrated. Also, avoid alcohol; it can make the side effects worse.

I know it's tough, but try to stay active. Gentle exercise can help with constipation and general well-being. I joined a support group for chronic pain, and it's helped me stay positive and informed.

I've been on this for a while now. The extended-release part is a game-changer—it means you don't have to take it as often. Just be really careful with the acetaminophen part; liver damage is a real risk if you take too much.

I'm glad you're getting support; it makes a huge difference. Just be mindful of your intake. I once accidentally doubled my dose and had a rough night.

Of all the extended-release opioids, benzhydrocodone is one of the safer options. But safety is relative. I've been on it for months, and it's been a life-changer for my pain levels, but I also take it very seriously.

I wish I'd known about the breathing problems before I started. If you feel short of breath or sleep apnea, go to the ER. Sometimes it can be a silent killer.

Be super careful with combining this with other meds. I had a bad reaction when I mixed it with another painkiller; ended up in the ER with serotonin syndrome. Not fun. Talk to your doctor about all your meds.
