I've just begun my treatment with Ciprofloxacin I.V. 400mg Sol, 200ml for a serious infection in my urinary tract. My doctor assured me it's a powerful antibiotic, but I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects. Has anyone else taken this IV antibiotic? What side effects did you encounter? Were they manageable, or did you have to stop the treatment? I'm particularly worried about the severe skin reactions and kidney problems mentioned in the patient information leaflet. Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Be careful with the sun exposure! I got a bad sunburn even though I was wearing sunscreen. And the sunburn really hurt! It was something I just didn't think about. Let your doctor know if you experience any kind of skin problems.

I've had to take this a couple of times for UTIs. Each time I was worried about the side effects, but I only got diarrhea and a slight headache. It was manageable, and I was glad to have something that worked for my infection.

Ciprofloxacin can mess with your tendons, too. I had some weird pain in my Achilles tendon while on this. Make sure you keep an eye out for that, as well as anything else that feels off. Don't push through the pain if you think it might be tendon-related.

I was on this for a lung infection last year. The worst part was the diarrhea, but it was manageable. Just make sure to stay hydrated and listen to your body. If something feels really off, don't hesitate to call your doctor. Good luck with your treatment!

I had to switch to oral Cipro after getting a severe reaction to the IV version. It was just a bad rash, no problems with my kidneys or anything. I would definitely recommend that you see a doctor if you experience anything abnormal.

I had a bad experience with Ciprofloxacin. I had some major shaking and weakness. I didn't have any long-term damage, but it was bad enough to make me want to try to avoid it. I hope you have a better experience.

Just finished my course of Cipro IV for a bone infection. The only side effects I had were some headache and upset stomach, but nothing too bad. I was super worried about the serious side effects, but I didn't have any of those. Fingers crossed for you!
