I've just been prescribed Dexamethasone Sod Phos 10mg/ml Inj for an auto-immune condition I've been struggling with. My doctor mentioned it's a strong corticosteroid and could have some serious side effects and asked me to keep a close eye. Has anyone else taken this? What were your experiences with it? Any advice on managing potential side effects? Also, how long did it take for the medicine to start working for you? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

I was on this for a few weeks and it helped a lot with the inflammation. But yeah, the side effects were rough. I had some pretty bad headaches and my blood sugar went way up. Just keep an eye on that stuff.

I took this for an asthma flare-up. It knocked out the inflammation super fast, but I gained like 10 pounds in a week. Weirdest part was the moon face—I looked like I was storing up for winter or something.

I've been on Dexamethasone before. It's pretty powerful stuff. Just be prepared for some mood swings and maybe some insomnia. Make sure you're eating well and staying hydrated!

Serious question: does anyone know if this affects your ability to drive or operate heavy machinery? I'm starting to feel some dizziness and I’m worried about getting behind the wheel.

I took this for a bad case of poison ivy. It worked but I had a hard time sleeping—it was like my body was on overdrive. Also, weird dreams—like, really weird. But it cleared up the rash super fast. Worth it for me, though.

I was on this for a severe allergic reaction. It worked like a charm, but I had the weirdest stretch marks appear on my stomach. They faded eventually, but it was scary at the time.

Steroids are no joke. Just finished a course of this stuff for a skin condition. The skin cleared up great, but I had some serious mood swings and irritability. Just be prepared for that.

Be careful with this one. I had a friend who ended up in the hospital with some serious issues. It's great for short-term use, but long-term can be pretty dangerous.

Dexamethasone can mess with your blood sugar levels big time. If you're diabetic or pre-diabetic, keep a close eye on that. I had to adjust my insulin doses a few times.
