Just started Ethacrynic Acid 25mg Tablets for edema. What should I expect?
I was recently prescribed Ethacrynic Acid 25mg Tablets to manage edema. My doctor explained that it's a diuretic, which helps the body get rid of extra salt and water. This should reduce the swelling and also help with my blood pressure. However, the list of side effects is pretty daunting. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? I'm on the same medication. How often do you have to urinate due to these pills?
Stay away from salt while on this! It will make everything worse.
I had some mild stomach upset but nothing too bad. Just take it with food and you should be fine.
Ethacrynic Acid can cause some serious side effects, so keep an eye out for any unusual symptoms. If you feel really off, get to a doctor ASAP.
I had a really bad reaction to Ethacrynic Acid. My doctor had to switch me to something else. But everyone's different.
Be prepared for some serious fatigue. It knocked me out for the first week.
