Hello everyone, I just started taking Ethambutol 400mg tablets as part of my TB treatment regimen. I've been reading about the potential side effects, and I must admit, I'm a bit nervous. The drug information sheet mentions some serious side effects like vision changes and liver problems, but it also lists a lot of more common, less severe issues. Has anyone here taken Ethambutol? What was your experience like? Specifically, I'm curious about the vision changes and how common they really are. Also, any tips on managing the more common side effects like stomach upset or headaches? I want to be as prepared as possible. Thanks in advance for any insights!

I had some strange bruising and bleeding issues while on Ethambutol. Turns out it was a side effect, but it scared the hell out of me. Make sure to get checked out if you notice anything weird.

Ethambutol saved my life, but it was a rough ride. The worst part was the dizziness and weakness. Make sure to take it easy and listen to your body.

Ethambutol can be harsh, but it's effective. I had some joint pain and swelling, but my doc gave me some tips to manage it. Also, drink plenty of water and take the pills with food to avoid stomach issues. Good luck!

I wish I knew the hell I was getting into with this medication... Have some OTC medicine you trust on hand to manage headaches, nausea, etc. I got lucky and didn't have the vision problems, but they really scared me.

I just started Ethambutol too, and I'm already feeling some stomach upset. Any tips on what to eat to make it easier?

Be careful with this one. I had a friend who took Ethambutol and ended up with some serious liver problems. Make sure to get regular check-ups and monitor your liver function.

This drug is tough, but TB is tougher. Stick with it, and you'll be fine. I had some hallucinations early on, but they stopped after a few weeks. Just keep an eye on your vision and liver.
