Just started Fluoxetine 40mg Capsules: What side effects should I watch out for?
Hey everyone, I just started taking Fluoxetine 40mg Capsules for anxiety and depression. The doctor explained some of the side effects, but I'm trying to prepare myself for any potential issues.
I've read about some serious side effects like allergic reactions and serotonin syndrome. Are these really as rare as they sound, or should I be extra cautious?
What about the more common side effects like fatigue and dizziness? How long did these last for you if you experienced them?
Also, what are some tips for managing side effects? I want to be proactive about dealing with any issues that come up.
Finally, where can I report any side effects if they become too much to handle?

For anyone concerned, I felt like a zombie that first week. It was rough, but it got better. Just stick with it.
Serious side effects are rare, but it's always good to be informed. I had some strange dreams and insomnia for the first few weeks, but they eventually went away. Stick with it if you can.
I've been on Fluoxetine for years and have had no serious side effects. Common ones like dry mouth and nausea were manageable. Just be patient and give your body time to adjust.
I had some really vivid dreams. They were actually kinda fun. But my wife didn't think it was so funny when I started acting them out in my sleep.
My friend had a really bad reaction and ended up in the hospital with serotonin syndrome. Don't ignore severe symptoms, trust your instincts and go to the doctor ASAP.
I found that getting up and moving helped with the fatigue. Just take it one day at a time and listen to your body. You'll find what works for you.
