Hi everyone, I was just prescribed Jentadueto 2.5mg/1000mg Tablets to help manage my type 2 diabetes. I've read the potential side effects, like lactic acidosis or pancreatitis, and it's got me a little spooked. Does anyone have experience with this medication? What should I be particularly on the lookout for? How soon after starting did you notice any effects, good or bad? I'm hoping to hear from people who've been on it long-term as well as those who've just started. Thanks in advance!

I had some joint pain at first, but it went away after a couple of weeks. My doctor said it might have been due to the metformin. Just make sure to let your doctor know if it persists!

Just a heads-up, if you experience any of the urgent side effects, do not wait—go to the hospital right away. I had a friend who waited too long with similar symptoms and it got really bad.

I've been on Jentadueto for about 6 months now. The first few weeks were a bit rough with some stomach issues, but it got better. I had some mild diarrhea and nausea, but nothing too severe. My sugar levels are much better now, so I’d say it’s worth it. Oh and do not mix alcohol with this medication!

If you get any stomach issues for the first few weeks, try taking it with food. That helped me a lot. Also, don't forget to check your blood sugar regularly so you know how well it’s working.

I switched from metformin alone to Jentadueto and noticed a significant difference in my blood sugar control. The combo of linagliptin and metformin really seems to work well. Just make sure to follow your doctor's advice closely and monitor your levels regularly.
