I was just prescribed Jynarque to help manage my Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD). Has anyone else been on this medication? I'm curious to hear about your experiences, both good and bad. My doctor said it can help reduce the growth of kidney cysts by helping my kidneys get rid of extra water, but I'm a bit nervous about potential side effects like allergic reactions and fluid/electrolyte problems. Any tips on managing these would be appreciated!

Be careful with the fluid and electrolyte issues. I had some pretty bad dizziness and weakness at first, but it got better once I adjusted my diet to manage the electrolyte levels. Salt intake became really important. Probably worth talking to your dietitian about it.

Why would they prescribe a new medication that has all those severe side effects??

I wish there were more alternatives for ADPKD. I’m on dialysis now, and wish I had known about Jynarque sooner. It's not perfect, but it sounds better than what I'm going through.

I've been on Jynarque for about six months now. It's been a game-changer for me. I had a lot of the same concerns about side effects, but so far, I've only experienced some minor ones like dry mouth and frequent urination. Just stay hydrated and it should be manageable.

This thing is a lot of work, honestly. I have to pee all the time and my mouth is constantly dry. But if it keeps my kidneys working, I'll deal. Make sure you have a good relationship with your doctor and that they're monitoring your electrolytes.

Good luck, man. I heard this stuff can be tough on some people. Just keep an eye on those symptoms and don't hesitate to call your doctor if anything feels off. I had a friend who had a really bad reaction, but that's super rare.

Jynarque is a great drug. Sure it can have side effects, but it’s worth it to slow down the progression of ADPKD. Just listen to your body and communicate with your doctor. And don’t forget to report any side effects you have to the FDA. They need that info.

I just started Jynarque last week and the frequent urination has been a nightmare. Any tips on managing that?
