Just started Lamictal ODT 25mg Tablets for Bipolar Disorder - Anyone else on this?
I was just prescribed Lamictal ODT 25mg Tablets for bipolar disorder. My doctor said it's crucial to start at a low dose and increase slowly. Has anyone else been on this medication? What was your experience like? Any tips for managing the side effects? I'm a bit nervous about the rash risk, has anyone experienced that?

It's been a lifesaver for me, but I had to work with my doctor to find the right dose. I started at 25mg and now I'm at 200mg. It's a slow process, but it's worth it.
I've been on it for six months. I noticed some shortness of breath and chest pain at first, but my doctor increased it slowly and carefully so I didn't experience any severe side effects.
I had a weird skin reaction at first, but it faded quickly. Just be vigilant and keep communicating with your doctor. I promise, they know more than they let on. The dose adjustment helped a lot.
I've experienced some pretty severe side effects. I don't know how different the other medications are but this stuff is life-changing. It takes about 3-6 weeks to get used to it.
Lamictal has been great for my mood swings, but yes, the side effects can be rough at first. Stay hydrated and get plenty of rest. It gets easier. You got this!
I had to take this after a bad run on other meds and it was a life saver, but I started having all these weird vision changes, my doctor told me it was probably related to my dose, they adjusted it and it cleared up quickly.
I've been on Lamictal for a few years now, and it's been a game-changer for me. Start slow, but it's worth it. I had a bit of a rash at first, but my doctor adjusted my dose and it cleared up. Good luck!
Be careful, I went through 3 medications and finally Lamictal worked best for me, but I experienced a lot of side effects when I first started. Mostly dizziness and drowsiness. It got better though, after a month or so.
I had a rash that I thought I could just deal with, but it got worse and worse. I'm glad I listened to my doctor and changed the dosage.
Good luck! I found that eating smaller, more frequent meals helped with the stomach issues. Also, if you experience dizziness from standing up, try to get up slowly.
