I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism and my doctor prescribed Levothyroxine 0.137mg (137mcg) Caps to help regulate my thyroid hormone levels. I've started taking them and so far, I haven't noticed any significant changes or side effects. However, I'm curious to hear from others who have been on this medication for a while. What kind of results have you experienced? How long did it take to feel the effects? Any tips on managing potential side effects or maximizing the benefits?

I've heard that you should avoid taking it within 4 hours of iron and calcium supplements. Does anyone have any more tips on what to avoid while taking Levothyroxine?

I've been on it for 2 years and still constantly tired. I've also been dealing with anxiety and my hair is falling out. I feel like I'm back to square one.

Great to hear it's helping some people! I've been on it for a while but I'm still feeling tired all the time. Is this normal?

I've been on Levothyroxine for about a year now and it's been a game-changer. It took a few months to find the right dosage, but once I did, my energy levels went way up and I felt like myself again. Just make sure to take it on an empty stomach and wait at least 30 minutes before eating or drinking anything with calcium. It also helps to take it consistently at the same time every day.

Levothyroxine definitely took a while to kick in for me. I felt my metabolism was still pretty slow and I was constantly tired for the first few months. But after a few more months, I started to feel more energetic overall. I had a few issues with my mood. I felt irritable and had trouble sleeping for the first couple months. The side effects subsided after speaking to my doctor who adjusted my dosage and my side effects. I have found that it has a positive impact on my overall health.

Did anybody else feel like they were experiencing the side effects of an overactive thyroid while starting? I only took it for a few weeks before stopping. My doctor is considering other treatment options after this experience.

I've noticed that my mood has become more stable since I started taking it. I've also lost a bit of weight, which is a plus.

I felt way better after a week, started even noticing changes in my skin and nails. My doc prescribed me a protocol along with some lifestyle changes — I feel fitter than I have been in years. The key to this medication is patience and consistency. I also experienced hair loss which my doc assured me was temporary. I didn't experience any of the serious side effects so thankfully I am in the clear. I only experienced a bit of anxiety and some trouble sleeping initially. The side effects improved after a few days. My thyroid is more balanced than ever, and I haven't had any major problems since. Hang in there!
