Just started Levothyroxine 0.137mg (137mcg) for hypothyroidism - What to expect?
I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism and my doctor prescribed Levothyroxine 0.137mg (137mcg). I started taking it a few days ago, and I'm curious to know what others have experienced. How long did it take for you to notice improvements in your energy levels and overall well-being? What side effects, if any, did you encounter? Any advice on managing these side effects? I'm also a bit nervous about the potential for more serious side effects like high blood pressure or allergic reactions. Has anyone had any issues with those or had to seek medical attention? Thanks in advance for any insights!

Make sure you're taking it on an empty stomach first thing in the morning. Food can interfere with absorption. I noticed a big difference when I started doing that.
I thought I'd never feel normal again. But once I started taking it, I started to slowly feel like my old self. Good luck! It will get better.
Don't worry too much about the side effects. Everyone is different. If it gets too bad, talk to your doctor, that's what they are there for.
I think it's helpful to keep a journal of how you feel each day. It can be useful when you go back to the doctor for follow-up appointments. And take your meds!
I've been on Levothyroxine for a few months now, and it's been a game-changer for my energy levels. It took about 3-4 weeks to really start feeling the difference. I did experience some hair loss initially, but it grew back. Hang in there!
I had some really bad side effects at first like anxiety and trouble sleeping, but my doctor adjusted my dosage and it got better. If it gets too bad, don't hesitate to call your doctor.
I had some weird side effects like muscle cramps and diarrhea, but I drank a lot of water and it helped a lot. It was a bit tough at first but things got much better 2 months in.
