I was recently prescribed Mesalamine rectal suspension after being diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. I had some issues with constipation at first. Drinking plenty of water and eating fiber-rich foods helped a lot.

I had to switch to a different medication because the Mesalamine gave me severe rectal irritation. If that happens, talk to your doctor right away.
Seriously? You have to use this stuff every day? I feel like I can't live my life normally anymore. Next time I'll ask for a pill.
I found using a small amount of lubricant before application made it a lot more comfortable. Just a tip if you're struggling with the application part.
