I've been given MoviPrep to clean out my colon for an upcoming colonoscopy. I've heard it's pretty intense, and I'm a bit nervous. Does anyone have any tips or advice on what to expect? How bad is the nausea and how long does it last? Also, I've seen some scary side effects listed. How common are severe reactions? I want to be prepared but not worried sick. If anyone has gone through this, I'd love to hear your experiences and any advice you have! I’m drinking the first bottle tonight and the second tomorrow, so I’m looking for any advice at all.

I had a similar experience, but I also felt really dizzy and weak for a while. Make sure to drink plenty of water and clear liquids, but avoid caffeine and alcohol. And definitely stay close to a bathroom!

I was really scared of the rectal bleeding too, but my doctor said it's normal and nothing to worry about. Just be prepared for the color change. And if you have any questions, definitely ask your doctor. They know this prep better than anyone.

Don’t forget to take it easy the day before and the day of. The prep takes a lot out of you. And be super careful when you stand up the first few hours after taking it. That first sip is the worst. Trying to suck it through a straw actually helped me.

Why are they making us drink this stuff, anyway? I’m scared to even start. I heard the Bloomingdale's trick where you put it in Gatorade and drink it like a smoothie. Yes, it’s far from tasty, but it might help keep it down.

You got this! MoviPrep is rough, but it's worth it for a clear colonoscopy. Drink lots of water and take it slow. The nausea is inevitable, but it should pass quickly. Good luck!

Just be prepared to be close to a bathroom for at least 4 hours. It’s intense, but you’ll be fine. Hydrate as much as you can. I didn’t experience severe side effects, just a lot of cramping and some mild nausea. It’s over before you know it.

I had to do this last year. The prep is the worst part, but totally doable. I found it helped to sip the solution slowly and have some clear broth or juice between doses. I also recommend having a buddy nearby. It gets a bit crazy for a few hours.

I had to take a couple of anti-nausea pills and they helped a lot. But I also got really dehydrated and ended up in the ER. So be careful. Just in case you do feel super dizzy, just lay down and relax. It’s ok. Take a break and try again. If you can’t drink it all, don’t worry, they’ll just prep you a different way. I did that and it was fine.

I’m not sure if this is everyone’s experience, but I felt like I was going to die after the first bottle. I could barely stand up. The second time I used it, I was a lot more prepared. I still felt bad, but not as bad. So, just remember, it gets better with experience.

I’m so scared of this. I’m not sure if I can do it. I’ve had it before and it was pretty rough. But I’ll gladly go through it again knowing it means you are able to catch anything early. Good luck!
