Just started my Dexamethasone 6-Day 1.5mg Dose Pack. Any tips or experiences to share?
I was prescribed a Dexamethasone 6-Day 1.5mg Dose Pack for my severe allergic reaction. I've heard mixed things about this medication, both positive and negative. I'm a bit anxious because I've never taken steroids before. Has anyone else taken this? What should I expect? How long does it take to start working? And most importantly, what are the side effects that I should be really worried about?

I had a really bad experience with Dexamethasone. I developed severe mood swings and my blood pressure shot up. I had to stop taking it and switch to something else. Be careful and monitor your symptoms closely. If you experience any severe side effects, contact your doctor immediately.
I took this for an asthma flare-up and it was amazing. I felt better within hours. Just be careful with the side effects, especially if you have a history of high blood pressure.
Be prepared for some insomnia. I found it really hard to sleep while on this stuff.
Make sure to avoid salt and sugary foods. Dexamethasone can cause fluid retention and high blood sugar if you're not careful.
I had a really bad reaction the first time I took it, but the second time around, it was fine. Sometimes our bodies just need to get used to it.
Honestly, I was scared of the side effects too, but after taking it, I realized it was not that bad. Just take it as prescribed and you'll be fine. Good luck!
I'm on day 3 and my allergic reaction is already much better. No serious side effects yet, just a bit of restlessness. Fingers crossed it stays that way!
