I've just been prescribed Nitrofurant Mac 25mg Capsules for a UTI. I've never taken this antibiotic before. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria in the urine. I'm a bit nervous about the possible side effects, especially the serious ones. I know it's important to finish the entire course, even if I feel better. Has anyone else used this medication? What was your experience like? I'm also curious about the more common side effects like headache, upset stomach, or diarrhea. How did you manage them? Thank you in advance for sharing your experiences and advice!

I had a friend who took these and her urine turned brown. She freaked out but the doctor said it was normal. Just a heads up in case that happens to you!

I've been on these for a few days now and I'm feeling okay so far. Just a bit of headache, nothing too bad. Make sure to take them exactly as prescribed. I had to take Mine with food to avoid any stomach issues.

I feel so much better after a couple of days on these. No side effects so far, but I'm keeping an eye out. Just finished my first course and I'm really happy with the results.

Anyone getting C. diff after finishing the antibiotic? It's scary stuff. I had a bad case and it took a while to recover. Make sure to tell your doctor if you have bad diarrhea after finishing them.

Why do antibiotics always come with a risk of diarrhea? It's the worst. But yeah, finish the course even if you feel better. My doc said it's crucial to kill all the bacteria.

Be careful with the diarrhea issue. I had a friend who ended up with C. diff because she didn't know about the severity of diarrhea side effect. If you experience that, definitely contact your doctor!

I took these for a UTI last year. They worked great but I did get some stomach upset. Drinking plenty of water helped a lot.

I've had UTIs before and my doctor always prescribes these. Just be aware of the serious side effects and if you feel anything out of the ordinary, go to the ER. Better safe than sorry. I usually take them with food and lots of water. Helps a lot with the stomach issues.
