Just started Nucala 100mg Inj for severe asthma. Any advice or shared experiences?
Hello everyone, I've just started using Nucala 100mg Inj for my severe asthma. My doctor said it should help reduce my eosinophils and hopefully minimize my flare-ups. I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects, especially the urgent ones like allergic reactions and shortness of breath. I had a friend who had a bad reaction to Nucala. Make sure you have your phone with you when you are giving yourself the injection.
I've been on Nucala for about 6 months now, and it's been a game-changer for my asthma. The injections are no fun, but the reduction in flare-ups has been worth it. I did have some itching and redness at the injection site, but it went away quickly. Just make sure to stay in touch with your doctor and report any side effects.
I felt really tired and weak after my first few injections, but that passed after a month. Stick with it, the improvement is worth it.

I had a scary moment with shortness of breath after my second injection. Turns out it was a false alarm, but it was terrifying. I ended up in the ER just to be safe, but everything was fine. The side effects are serious, so listen to your body and your doctor.
Be really careful with the injections. I had a nurse who wasn't experienced with Nucala and she gave me a nasty bruise. Make sure you are comfortable with who is giving it to you.
