I've just been prescribed Asmanex 220mcg Twisthaler (30) for my asthma. I'm a bit nervous about starting a new medication, especially one that's a controller. Can anyone share their experiences with this inhaler? I've read about the serious side effects, but I'm not sure how common they are or what the daily experience is like. Does anyone use this regularly and if so, can you share your daily routine with the Twisthaler? Any tips for keeping track of doses and when to replace the inhaler would be really helpful too. I've also heard that it's not meant to be used for sudden attacks. How do you manage those situations while on Asmanex? If you've had a bad reaction, what do you wish you had done differently? Thanks!

Serious side effects are rare, but keep an eye out for any signs of infection or allergic reactions. If you experience any of those, seek medical help right away.

I get nose and throat irritation but it's worth it. I've found that using a humidifier at night helps with dryness.

I'll be honest, I was terrified when I read the side effects. I didn't know what to expect, but it's not so bad. I do a lot of exercises to compensate for the potential muscle weakness.

I switched from a different inhaler to Asmanex and it was so much easier to use. It took me a couple of days to get used to the Twisthaler mechanism, but now I love it. It's handy to have it with me at all times and using it feels really discreet and quick.
