Just started on Doxycycline Monohydrate 75mg Tabs for Acne: What to Expect?
I've just started taking Doxycycline Monohydrate 75mg Tabs for severe acne and am a bit nervous about the potential side effects. I've heard mixed stories about how well it works and what kinds of side effects people experience. Has anyone else been on this medication for acne? How long did it take to see results? I'm also worried about the more serious side effects and what to do if I experience any of them. Thanks for any advice or personal experiences!

I've been on Doxycycline for about 6 months now for acne, and it's been a lifesaver. It took about 2-3 months to see significant improvements in my skin. I did experience some mild side effects like stomach upset and decreased appetite, but they went away after a while. Just make sure to take it with food and drink plenty of water. Good luck!
Doxycycline was a game-changer for my skin. I had cystic acne and was desperate for something to work. I did experience some nausea, but my dermatologist recommended taking it with food and it helped a lot. The most important thing is to stick with it and don't get discouraged if your acne seems to get worse before it gets better. The results are worth the wait.
I've never had any issues with it, but I've heard some people have really bad flare-ups of acne before it clears up. Stay positive and stick with it if you can.
Doxycycline is a powerful antibiotic. When I had to take it for a severe infection, it did have some pretty noticeable side effects. I would recommend taking it at night to avoid the one that makes you more sensitive to sunlight. I should have read the warnings more carefully and would have avoided sunburns!
Wow, that's intense. I hope you talked to your doctor about it. Maybe there's an alternative that would work better for you.
Don't forget, it can mess with your stomach a bit. Taking it with a ton of food seems to help a bit.
I've taken it several times and always use it for respiratory infections. The side effects are usually minimal, but the first time I took it I had a very bad reaction and experienced some pretty severe dizziness. I had to stop taking it immediately and my skin was even more sensitive to the sunlight. I've been a bit hesitant to take it again.
I took it for a UTI a while back. I got a slight headache and a bit of sensitivity to sunlight, but nothing too bad. Definitely worth it to get the infection cleared up!
I didn't have any major side effects, but my skin got really dry. It might be worth investing in some good moisturizer while you're on it.
I used Doxycycline for rosacea and it worked wonders. Got to be careful with it, though. I remember having some bad headaches and a bout of diarrhea but nothing too severe.
