I was recently prescribed Nitrostat 0.3mg SL Tabs to manage my angina. I've heard a lot about nitroglycerin, but want to know what others' experiences are like. How quickly does it typically work? I've been told to place it under my tongue and let it dissolve. Any tips for making that process easier? Also, I've read about some serious side effects. How common are they really? If you've been on this medication, what has your journey been like? How do you manage any side effects? Looking forward to hearing from anyone with experience with this med!

I've heard some people say it gives them a headache. If that happens, talk to your doc—they may be able to adjust your dose or switch you to a different med.

I switched to a different brand and it didn't work the same way. My doctor says they should be interchangeable, but I have my doubts. I think I'll stick with what works.

Be careful not to chew or swallow the tablet. It needs to dissolve under your tongue for full effect. I made that mistake once and didn't get the relief I needed.

I've had some issues with extra sweating. It's annoying, but I'd rather deal with that than the chest pain. Just make sure to stay hydrated.

Nitrostat saved my life. I had a severe angina attack and my Nitrostat quickly relieved the pain. I just want to emphasize what the poster said about side effects. You really have to be careful with this stuff. If you experience any of those urgent side effects, don't mess around. Get to a doctor ASAP.

Sorry to hear about your angina. My dad has it and I always keep his Nitrostat by the door for emergencies. It's a lifesaver, but it's scary to see him have episodes.

I've been on Nitrostat for a few years now. It works like a charm for me. I keep it in my pocket, and whenever I feel that familiar tightness in my chest, I pop one under my tongue. It usually kicks in within a minute or two. As for side effects, I've had some headaches and mild dizziness, but nothing too bad. Just make sure to sit or lie down when you take it, as it can cause a sudden drop in blood pressure.

I've had some issues with dizziness. I'm not sure if it's the Nitrostat or something else. I've reported it to my doctor and I'll see what they say. It's scary but I'm trying not to worry too much.

I keep my Nitrostat in a cool, dry place, as recommended. I've read that heat and moisture can make it less effective, so better safe than sorry.

I just started on Nitrostat too. I'm nervous about the side effects, but I'll keep everyone's advice in mind. Thanks for sharing your experiences!
