I've just started taking Phesgo for my HER2-positive breast cancer. I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects, especially the more serious ones like allergic reactions and tumor lysis syndrome. I'm also wondering about the injection process—any tips for making it less painful? Has anyone else experienced a lot of hair loss or gastrointestinal issues? I'd love to hear any advice or personal experiences from others who've been on this medication. Fingers crossed for a smooth journey! I was going to ask if I could drink alcohol as well, but the answer was clearly 'no' when I read the side effects. Sobering thought.

My wife is on Phesgo and she's had a rough time with it. Lots of fatigue and joint pain. She's also had some issues with her eyes (hot flashes). Her doctor said it's not uncommon, but it's still tough to see her go through it.

Fingers crossed for you! I'm on Cycle 3 and no side effects so far. But I have a feeling things will change after my next dose.

How are you feeling today? I know this isn't an easy journey, I hope that you can find some peace and time for self-care during this treatment.

I wouldn't worry too much! Could be worse. The side effects can be scary to read about, but remember that severe cases are rare. When I had my first dose, I was pretty anxious and ended up with a bit of a headache, but it passed quickly. I had some bruising at the injection site, but it was nothing serious. Good luck! Your oncologist should be able to help manage any side effects that come up.

I've been on Phesgo for about six months now. The injection itself isn't too bad; just make sure to use a cold compress before and after to numb the area. As for side effects, I've had some hair loss and occasional nausea, but nothing too severe. Just take it easy and listen to your body.

Have you looked into any alternative therapies or supplements that might help with the side effects? I know some people have had good results with certain vitamins and herbs, but I'm not sure how they interact with Phesgo.

I hate to say this, but if you do get bruising, it might be worth it to get a new hairstyle! Haha. The hair loss really, really stinks. I know that it can come back, but it is still really hard to watch. Just make sure you still go out and enjoy your life during this though. You don't need to let this cut too much of your life away.

If you still want to go out and drink, I never had a problem with it. I would probably say the same about smoking though. However, I would be worried about the Electrolyte problems first. As a nurse, I see this medication more often and I know that this could be a big risk factor for treatment.

I was really worried about the potential allergies. I guess it's always good to keep the EpiPen close by. I also found that eating small, frequent meals helped with the nausea. It was a bit hard, since I was more hungry, but it was worth it to avoid the vomiting. Granted, it wasn't the most pleasant time, but I might have not been as well hydrated as some would have advised.

I had a bad reaction to the second dose, but my doctor adjusted the dose and it's been fine since. So if you run into trouble, don't be afraid to reach out to your medical team. Make sure you do exactly what they say, but still talk to them if something doesn't feel right. Listen to your body! I also took this with some other medications and it all worked out for me.
