Just started Pylera Capsules for H. pylori – anyone else dealt with these side effects?
I was recently diagnosed with an H. pylori infection and my doctor prescribed Pylera Capsules along with a PPI to treat it. I've been taking them for a few days now, and while I'm glad to finally be addressing this issue, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by the side effects. I've heard horror stories about this medication, but I really want to understand what I'm dealing with. Can anyone who has taken Pylera share their experiences? What is PPI? Is it a common drug?
Be prepared for some serious mood swings. I felt irritable and confused at times, but it was a small price to pay for getting rid of the ulcers. Just take it easy and talk to your doctor if it gets unbearable.
Pylera is not an easy treatment, but it's effective. I had some issues with it, including metallic taste and a bit of discoloration in stool. Stick with it and hopefully you'll feel better soon!
I had a friend who ended up in the hospital with Stevens-Johnson syndrome from taking Pylera. It's rare, but it happens. Be cautious and keep an eye out for any strange symptoms.
Stay hydrated and eat light, bland foods. It helped me a lot with the stomach issues. Also, sleep was tough, but try to rest as much as you can.
If you start feeling really sick or notice any severe reactions, don't wait. Get to a doctor immediately. It's better to be safe when dealing with something like this.
My doctor warned me about the severe side effects, but honestly, I didn't experience any of the major ones. Just some mild headaches and a bit of dizziness. Definitely worth it to get rid of the H. pylori. Hang in there!
Why can't they make something that cures this without all the nasty side effects?
