I've been on Quetiapine ER 200mg for about 3 months now to help manage my bipolar disorder. I've noticed some significant weight gain, which is really concerning me. I've always struggled with my weight, but this seems different. Has anyone else experienced this side effect, and if so, how did you manage it? I've been trying to eat healthier and exercise more, but it feels like an uphill battle. I also feel super drowsy all the time, which makes it hard to stay motivated. Are there any strategies or tips you can share? I'm really hoping to find a way to balance this medication with a healthier lifestyle.

I started on Quetiapine and noticed the weight gain, but I switched to a different medication and it helped a lot. Sometimes it's just about finding the right balance with your doctor. You got this!

I felt the same way when I started Quetiapine. It took a while, but I started going to the gym and eating healthier. I also talked to my doctor about adjusting the dosage, and it helped a lot. Good luck!

I had a similar experience. The weight gain was brutal, but I managed to lose almost all of it by sticking to a low-carb diet and increasing my physical activity. And if the drowsiness is too much, talk to your doctor about taking it at night.

I feel your pain. Same boat here. Quetiapine really wrecked my sleep schedule, but I found that taking it at night really helped. It's tough at first, but you'll get used to it. Hang in there.

Weight gain with meds is the worst! But I agree with the others, talking to your doctor and making some lifestyle changes can really help.

I've been on Quetiapine for a year now, and the sleepiness is still a problem. But it's worked wonders for my mood stability. I just keep pushing to stay active and eat right. There will be tough days, but it's worth sticking to it.

Quetiapine can really mess with your metabolism. I had the same issue, but my doctor switched me to a different mood stabilizer and the weight started coming off. It's a tough road, but you're doing the right thing by seeking help.

Weight gain is a common side effect, unfortunately. I found that switching to a lower-calorie diet helped a bit, but what really made a difference was talking to my psychiatrist about it and seeing if there were any alternatives to adjusting the dosage. It's definitely worth discussing with your doctor.
