Just started Requip XL 12mg for Parkinson's - any tips or warnings?
I was recently prescribed Requip XL 12mg to help manage my Parkinson's symptoms. I started taking it a few days ago, and I'm already noticing some improvements in my tremors and stiffness, but I'm also feeling a bit drowsy. I know that sleepiness is a possible side effect but I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this or if there are any tips to manage it? I also want to know more about the serious side effects listed in the medication guide. Has anyone had any serious reactions or know someone who has? How was it handled? I'm really hoping this medication works well for me, but I want to be prepared for any potential issues.

I'm really glad to hear that you're finding some relief from your symptoms. It can be a big transition, but stick with it and see how it goes. Just remember, everyone responds to medication differently, so try not to worry too much about the side effects you haven't experienced yet.
I'm on my second year of taking Requip XL 12mg and never experienced any sleepiness. I'm assuming it's the dosage that makes a difference, just make sure to take it and adjust as needed. Just make sure to take it and adjust as needed, and don't forget to use those parking lots and benches wisely.
Just wanted to chime in and say that I was worried about the same side effects when I started this medication. It can be a little scary to think about, but my doctor told me that most people don't experience the serious side effects. Stay in touch with your doctor and make sure you report any issues that come up. That being said, I did experience some really bad hallucinations right after I started taking it. It turned out that my dosage was too high, so sometimes it's worth asking if you can lower your dose and gradually increase it instead.
Yeah, seriously, don't underestimate the power of keeping a little journal for yourself. When I started taking this medication, I kept track of my tremors and stiffness every day, and it really helped me to see if the medication was working. I almost forgot to mention, it can also be a really good way to keep an eye on any side effects and adjust your dosage accordingly.
Hoping you find the right balance with this medication. I've heard that some people don't have any issues at all. Just remember, it's all about finding the right dose and keeping track of how you're feeling. Good luck, and feel free to reach out if you need help!
I was worried sick about the side effects, so I trusted my soul to my specialist doctor and she eased my fears. I was completely fine after that, I promise you will be OK. The good news is that the dizziness and sweating have vanished in my case. Take care!
Are you taking it in the morning or evening? Sometimes switching up the time of day can help with the sleepiness. I remember how tough it was to adjust to a new medication when I was first diagnosed. It's scary, but you're doing great.
