I was recently prescribed Sotalol AF 80mg Tablets to manage my atrial fibrillation. The doctor explained that it helps regulate my heart rhythm by slowing down the heart rate. I'm a bit nervous because it can affect my heart's electrical activity and I need to monitor my heart closely, especially in the beginning.

I've read about the potential side effects and it's concerning. Does anyone have experience with this medication? How did you handle the side effects? Any tips for managing the initial adjustments? I'm eager to hear from others who have gone through this.

Another concern is the severe side effects that require immediate medical attention. I'm a bit anxious about recognizing the signs early enough. Any advice on how to stay vigilant without being constantly worried? Exactly how closely should I monitor myself and is there any specific thing to look out for?

I wasn't aware of the erection issues side effect. I didn't have that but I know someone who did. They were so mad about it and it took time for it to go away. But they were already such a hypochondriac so maybe they just noticed it. But who knows? It is something to keep in mind.

I'm on my second month and I've had some weird vision changes. Should I be worried?

Sotalol AF can be a lifesaver, but it's not without risks. My doc advised me to get an ECG regularly at first and I did. I also monitored my blood pressure. I had some minor side effects like fatigue and light headaches, but my heart was much more stable. He told me that too much caffeine can make the side effects worse, so watch out for that. And don't skip doses. Don't be like me I did this once and it was like a roller coaster ride for my heart.

I was on Sotalol AF for a few months and it really helped stabilize my heart rhythm. The dizziness was tough at first, but it went away after a couple of weeks. Just make sure to take it exactly as prescribed and keep in touch with your doctor.

This thread is giving me PTSD from my last dr visit. I can't believe these meds have so many side effects. I'm just going to avoid it altogether... or whatever my dr says.. ya right. I see my Dr. in three days and I'm just going to wait for their advice. I hate these meds.
