Just started Symbyax - any tips on managing side effects?
I was diagnosed with bipolar depression and my doctor just prescribed me Symbyax 6mg/25mg. I've read about the possible side effects, especially the more urgent ones, and I'm a bit nervous. Has anyone else taken this medication? What was your experience like? Any tips on managing the side effects, especially the weight gain and drowsiness? I really want to give this a shot, but I'm not sure what to expect. Thanks in advance for any advice!

I think it's great that you're giving this a shot. Remember, everyone is different, and you might not experience all the side effects. Keep a log of how you're feeling and talk to your doctor about any concerns.
I started out with the same dose and moved to 18mg/50mg after a few months under doctor supervision. The weight gain was manageable, but I did have other side effects. Just be consistent with your meds and you'll hopefully have minimal side effects
If you want a joke, try this one, Saddes, huh? I used to hate it, until I saw it without meds, now I love it!
I took Symbyax for a few years, and it helped a lot with my depression, but I got some kickback from the weight gain. I didn't find anything to help specifically until I was able to get off it.
