Just started taking Akynzeo 300-0.5mg Capsules for chemotherapy-induced nausea. Any tips or personal experiences?
Chemotherapy has been tough, and I'm really hoping Akynzeo helps with the nausea. I've read about the side effects, but I'm curious to hear from others who have taken it. What was your experience like? Did it work well for you? Any advice on managing side effects or tips for taking it? I want to be as prepared as possible. Also, how long does it usually take to kick in? I've heard mixed things about the timing, so any insights would be appreciated!
I'm also a bit concerned about the serotonin syndrome side effects, as I'm taking other medications. Has anyone else dealt with this while on Akynzeo? How did you manage it?

I'm really glad you're reaching out for support. Chemo is tough, but having a community to lean on makes it a bit easier. I haven't tried Akynzeo myself, but I wish you all the best with it!
I agree, Akynzeo was a lifesaver for me too. I did experience some redness and felt a bit weak, but it was totally worth it to have some relief from the nausea. Just be prepared for any side effects with some rest and hydration. If you have any concerns, you can also report side effects to the FDA at 1-800-332-1088 or online at https://www.fda.gov/medwatch. I found that really helpful for keeping track of my side effects and knowing if I needed to reach out to my doctor.
Ditched Akynzeo after a few doses. The side effects were worse than the nausea for me. But I know it works for some people, so don't lose hope. Hope you find something that helps you though.
Be careful with the serotonin syndrome. I've read that it's more likely to occur if you are taking certain other medications. Make sure to discuss all your medications with your doctor. The signs are severe and you should seek medical help right away if you experience any of these symptoms. You'll be okay, just stay vigilant.
I think it's important to remember that everyone's experience with medication can be different. What works for one person might not work for another. Stay positive and keep an open line of communication with your doctor. You got this!
I had a rough time with Akynzeo. The headache and upset stomach were pretty bad, but my doctor adjusted the dose and it got better. Just communicate openly with your healthcare provider. Good luck!
