I recently started taking Briviact (Brivaracetam) 25mg tablets to help manage my partial-onset seizures. My neurologist prescribed it, and I'm hoping it will help control my seizures better. I've read that it works by affecting certain proteins in the brain to calm overactive signals. I'm curious to hear from others who have taken this medication. What side effects have you experienced? I've read about potential side effects like dizziness, drowsiness, and fatigue, but I'm not sure what to expect. Have any of you dealt with more severe side effects, like hallucinations or suicidal thoughts? It's important to note that these are rare, according to the info from my neurologist, but I'm still a bit concerned. Together we can build a community of support and knowledge to help us navigate this journey. Please share your experiences, tips, and any advice you have! Thank you all!

I'm so glad I found this thread. I just started Briviact and was really nervous about the side effects. I've had some drowsiness, but it's manageable. I'll keep an eye out for anything serious.

Briviact 25mg tablets are a Godsend. I've been on them for a year, and they've significantly reduced my seizures. But remember, everyone's experience is different. I had some trouble with drowsiness at first, but it went away after a few weeks. Make sure to talk to your doctor if you have any concerns.

I had a weird experience with Briviact. I started having trouble balancing and felt clumsy, like I was drunk all the time. It was scary at first, but I reported it to my neurologist and we switched to a different dose and it went away. I'm also on a few other medications, so it could have been an interaction. Just make sure you report every symptom in detail.

I was skeptical at first, but Briviact has been a lifesaver. The dizziness and fatigue were mild and went away after a week or so. I had to deal with nausea and vomiting for a while but it went away after a few weeks. It was worth it though because my seizures went from daily to monthly. I still take a probiotic to help with my gut though.

I'm on Briviact too, and I've been lucky to only experience some mild dizziness. I've heard horror stories about the suicidal thoughts and hallucinations, and it’s scary. I think it's important to have regular check-ins with your doctor to make sure you're okay.

Briviact is definitely not for everyone. I had to stop taking it because the dizziness was too much to handle. It was like walking on a boat all the time. But I've got another medication that works for me now so it's all good.

Briviact saved my life. Literally. I was having 20-30 seizures a day and I was at rock bottom. Now I'm seizure free. And it's a miracle.

Nervous to try this. I've always been scared of the hallucinations. I'm in a high stress job and I can't afford to have any funny business with my brain. Guess I'll give it a shot unless the side effects are too rough?

I've had some serious side effects from Briviact. I ended up in the ER with a rash and trouble breathing. I had an allergic reaction. I'm not trying to scare anyone but if you have any symptoms like that - get help immediately. I've had my dose adjusted and am now on a lower dosage and it seems to be helping.
