I've been dealing with a nasty cold and allergies for the past few days, so my doctor prescribed Gencontuss Liquid. I'm on day 2 and it seems to help so far with the sneezing and runny nose, but I'm feeling a bit dizzy and having trouble sleeping. I know it's normal to feel a bit drowsy and dizzy, but the trouble sleeping is new to me. The list of side effects is a bit concerning, especially the severe allergic reactions or signs of high blood pressure. Anyone else had similar experiences? I'd love to hear from someone with more experience on this medication.

Gencontuss Liquid is good, but if you can get a prescription for a pseudoephedrine-based drug, that really clears your nose. There is a bit more risk of high blood pressure, but the relief is better in my experience. If you get a cold again, try to take it whenever you are home and not driving or working.

I've had no issues with this medication, to be honest. I have been taking it for years, and it has helped me treat my allergies before. I've never had any side effects, knock on wood. I hope you feel better soon!

Dizziness and drowsiness are pretty common with this sort of med. Just don’t drive or operate heavy machinery when you first start taking it. The dizziness should go away after a day or two!

This is a good time of year to be vigilant about allergies. I really like taking Gencontuss liquid if I remember. The liquid form is way easier than pill form. Any advice for keeping medicine on your person with kids around the house? Mine keep getting into it.

People don't realize how serious the allergic reactions can be. My friend had a bad reaction to some cold medicine and ended up in the hospital. It's scary stuff. Definitely take it seriously if you feel any of those symptoms.

I took this for a cold last month and it worked great! No side effects for me, just make sure you read the label and take it as directed. And call the doctor immediately if you notice any of the warning signs of an allergic reaction. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
