Just started taking Klor-Con Powder Pkts 20meq 30s for low potassium. Anyone else had experience with this?
I was recently prescribed Klor-Con Powder Pkts 20meq 30s to manage my low potassium levels. I use it as directed by mixing it with water. I'm curious to hear from others who have taken this medication. How does it taste? Did you experience any side effects? What was your overall experience? I'm particularly interested in knowing if anyone has had issues with stomach pain or diarrhea, as I've heard these are common side effects and I want to be prepared. Additionally, I'm wondering about the best way to mix and take the powder to minimize any potential discomfort. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I've given these to my kids all of the time, I'm supposed to drink some each night, but sometimes I forget. I notice it immediately when my muscles get tense, it's like they know that they aren't getting what they need, and they tell me with cramps.
This stuff tastes like salt mixed with salt. I drink it with orange juice. It's not the most pleasant drink I've ever had, but it's bearable.
Mixes with water just fine, and i didn't get any of the serious side effects, though I have always had a tendency to just shrug off things. But I will say, I have a hard time swallowing anything that doesn't taste, so I can't imagine these being easy for anyone.
I've been on Klor-Con for a bit over a year now. I mix it with a ton of juice. I drink it with crackers as well. It took a little while for me to get the hang of it, but I've been in the clear. The whole reason I got prescribed it is that I have such a high sodium intake, i'm starting to get leg cramps every night. I can't take salt out of my diet, but the powder really cleared me up so far.
This is a bit of a weird one, but I'm a kinda athletic person. I've noticed it kicks me into the bathroom a bit hard sometimes, can't imagine how bad it would be if I didn't drink so much water. There are lots of things to do, but I think drinking water is the biggest bonus of it I've found.
I've had to take potassium supplements for years. I've had to use a handful, but powder always seems to be the best. I try to take them with food, because I have had some issues with nausea and upset stomach before.
I have to take this stuff with my dialysis, it's nice that it's convenient, but the taste would make me want to die if I didn't have to take it. I wish they had a better flavor.
I had to take it for a few months and didn't have any major issues. Just some mild stomach discomfort at first, but it went away after a while. Make sure to drink plenty of water and take it with food if your stomach is sensitive. Also, talk to your doctor if you experience any of the really bad symptoms.
I took these for a while and had some pretty bad gas and diarrhea. I had to stop taking and try a different supplement.
