Hello everyone, I was recently diagnosed with a type of brain tumor and my doctor prescribed Temozolomide 180mg Capsules as part of my treatment plan. I've read through the possible side effects but would love to hear from anyone who has experience with this medication. What were your experiences like? Were the side effects as bad as they sound? Any tips for managing them? Also, how did the treatment affect your daily life? I'm hoping to get some insight from others who have been through this. Thank you!

I was on Temozolomide for almost a year. The side effects were tough, but manageable. The fatigue was the worst, but I found that pacing myself helped a lot. Also, the mouth sores were a pain, literally! Saltwater rinses helped a lot with that. As far as daily life goes, it was a struggle, but I had a great support system. Just know that it's okay to have bad days.

I took temozolomide for a while and gained a lot of weight. My appetite was out of control, but I tried to eat healthily and stay hydrated to manage the side effects of nausea.

Just want to be upfront about a few things Reddit. Temozolomide can cause hair loss, but this is usually temporary. But you'll have to manage a lot of emotional stress. I was embarrassed at first, but I hid it under a hat and felt good later. I hope this helps.

Stick with it. There are days I didn't think I could get through. But then I surprised myself. The taste changes suck, but it was the least of my worries. Remember your family and friends will be there to help.

I'm so sorry you're going through this, but I'm glad you're getting treatment. My mom was on Temozolomide, and she had a really hard time with the nausea. Her doctor prescribed some anti-nausea meds that really helped. But the biggest help was having someone with her during treatment. She didn't want to be alone. Make sure you have a good support system in place.

I'm glad to see you reaching out for support. I was on Temozolomide and one thing that really helped me was to join a support group. It was great to talk to others going through the same thing. Plus, they had some great tips for managing side effects. Don't hesitate to ask your doctor for a referral if you think it could help you. Good luck!
