I was recently prescribed Tikosyn 125 mcg Capsules for my atrial fibrillation and I've started my treatment in the hospital as advised. I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects, especially the serious ones like Torsade de Pointes. I know it's important to monitor my heart closely, but I'm curious to hear from others who have been on this medication. How was your experience? Any tips or advice for managing side effects? I want to make sure I'm as prepared as possible. I'm also interested to know if anyone has had any issues during the monitoring and if you had to take any extra precautions. I know that the side effects can be serious, but the hope is that this will help my heart regulate properly.

Be prepared for a lot of monitoring. They take your EKG multiple times a day while you're in the hospital. It's a bit annoying, but necessary. I had an upset stomach for the first week, but it went away.

I was on Tikosyn for a while and it worked well for me. Just be prepared for the monitoring and listen to your body. If something feels off, speak up!

I had no idea this med could cause such serious side effects. I hope you don't experience any of the bad ones. Keep us updated!

I was really nervous about the Torsade de Pointes risk, but my doc explained it well and I felt better prepared. I didn't experience any issues, just a mild headache sometimes.

If you get any signs of an allergic reaction, don't wait, get to the ER. Better safe than sorry. My brother had a bad reaction to a different med and it was scary.

Make sure you avoid any medications or supplements that can interact with Tikosyn. My doc gave me a long list of things to avoid. It was a bit overwhelming, but important to stick to.

I found that staying hydrated helped with some of the side effects. Not a miracle cure, but it made a difference. Good luck, and stay positive!

I had a friend who took this and had to stop because of severe chest pain. Make sure you're in a place where you can get help right away if something goes wrong. It's scary stuff.

I've been on Tikosyn for a few months now and it's been managing my afib well. The key is to stay in close contact with your cardiologist and report any side effects immediately. I didn't experience any major issues, but I did have some dizziness at the start.
