I've recently been prescribed Albuterol 0.042%(1.25mg/3ml) 25x3ml for my asthma. I've heard it's a 'rescue' inhaler, but I'm not sure how it works or what side effects to expect. I've been using it for a week now, and I'm curious to hear from others who have used it. Does it work for you? When do you use it? Have you had any scary side effects? I want to make sure I'm using it correctly and safely. Are there any tips for managing side effects or improving effectiveness?

I'm pretty sure it should stop being just a rescue inhaler, and become an everyday treatment.

It's great that you're reaching out! Albuterol is indeed a rescue inhaler, meaning it's meant for quick relief during an asthma attack. It relaxes the muscles around your airways to make breathing easier, but it's not a daily controller. I'd recommend talking to your doctor about when and how to use it optimally, as well as monitoring for side effects.

Just a heads up, make sure you're using it correctly. It takes some practice to get the inhaler technique down, so you might not be getting the full dose if you're not doing it right. Ask your pharmacist to show you the proper way to use it.

I've heard that some people use it preventively before exercise or exposure to triggers. Not sure if that's a good idea, though. Is there a risk of building up a tolerance?

I got some throat irritation from it, but switching to a spacer helped. Sometimes it's just a matter of finding the right accessories.

Have you thought about getting an inhaler with a counter? It helps keep track of how many doses you've used, which is really useful. It's a piece of mind.

I just want to say a big thank you to the folks who created Albuterol. It has been a game-changer for me. I'm always prepared for emergencies.
