I was recently prescribed Atropine Sulf 1% Ophthalmic Solution for my lazy eye condition. The doctor explained that it's used to temporarily widen my pupil and relax the focusing muscle inside my eye. This is supposed to help improve my eye coordination. I've started using it, but I'm curious to hear from others who have used this medication. Are there any tips or tricks to make the application process smoother? How long did it take for you to see improvements? I'm also a bit concerned about the side effects, especially the urgent ones. Anyone have any advice on managing these or knowing what to look out for? Thanks in advance!

I had a severe allergic reaction to Atropine once. I had swelling in my mouth and throat, and it was terrifying. If you ever feel tightness in your chest or throat, go to the ER immediately. Don’t mess around with these symptoms—better safe than sorry.

Have you tried using a washcloth or warm towel to soothe any irritations or stinging? Sometimes the application can be a bit rough, but this helps me a lot

I feel like I’m constantly worried about those urgent side effects. Just remember, the chances of experiencing a severe reaction are generally low!

Be prepared for the dilated pupils—it can be jarring at first, especially if you're driving or doing activities that require sharp vision. Wear dark sunglasses to protect your eyes from bright light. Also, make sure to keep the solution in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight.
