Just started using Betaxolol 0.5% Ophthalmic Solution - Any advice or shared experiences?
I've recently been prescribed Betaxolol 0.5% Ophthalmic Solution to manage high pressure inside my eye. My doctor explained that it's a beta-blocker and it works by reducing the fluid production in the eye. I've read about the possible side effects, but I'm still a bit nervous. Has anyone else used this medication? What was your experience like? I'm looking for some reassurance and any tips on how to manage the side effects. I did some searching but nothing really came up. Thanks in advance!

I've had no issues with Betaxolol, but I did have to deal with some short-term pain after using the medication. Just give it a few minutes and it should pass. Has that happened to anyone else?
Does anyone know if this stuff is safe to use during pregnancy. I can't seem to get a straight answer from my doctor.
I've been using Betaxolol for about six months now. It's been great for controlling my eye pressure, but I did have some initial irritation. Using the drops at night helped minimize the stinging. Hope you find it helpful!
I've been on this for a while and I find that it makes my eyes super dry. My doctor prescribed some artificial tears to help with that. Might be worth mentioning to your doctor if you notice that too.
I switched to Betaxolol from another medication and it's been a game-changer. No more headaches from high eye pressure. Just be patient and see how your body reacts. I know everyone is different, but it's worked well for me.
I had a really bad reaction to this stuff. Got hives and had trouble breathing. Had to go to the ER. Definitely call your doctor if you experience anything like that.
I'm so glad I found this thread. I've been feeling a bit lonely on this medication journey. Thanks for sharing your stories! It really helps to know I'm not alone.
Anyone know if it's safe to drive after using these drops? I feel a bit dizzy sometimes.
Hey all, just wanted to say that I had a strange experience with this drug. I felt like I was going to pass out.. So I went to the ER and they told me to stop taking it. Probably a one off, but just be careful.
Make sure to wash your hands before and after using the drops. Also, be careful not to touch the tip of the bottle to your eye or any surface. You don't want to contaminate it. Best of luck!
