I've just been prescribed Fluocinolone Acet 0.025% Oint for my eczema. I've heard it can be really effective, but I'm also a bit worried about the side effects. Has anyone else used this? What was your experience like? Any tips on how to use it safely and effectively?

Yes, it can cause burning or stinging, especially when you first start using it. If it gets worse or doesn't go away, definitely contact your doctor. I found using it after a shower or bath made it a bit more tolerable, since you can apply it to damp skin.

I've heard it can make your skin super dry. Is that true?

An important thing to note is that topical steroid withdrawal, or rebound, can happen if you abruptly stop using it. It can take a lot of time to get off of it safely. I had a friend who had a severe reaction from stopping his steroid too suddenly. Anyhow, best of luck with this treatment

I didn't have any bad side effects, but I did experience some mild burning when I first applied it. Is that normal?
